Team mango con chile, save this one for your next craving.
Servings: 1 (16 oz glass)
Prep time: 5 minutes
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups frozen mango chunks
- 1/2 cup ice
- 1 1/2 tbsp sugar (to taste)
- 1/4 cup water
- 4 tbsp La Fregona Original Mexican Streetcorn Chilito Sauce, divided
- 1 tbsp chile-lime powder, for the rim
- 1/4 cup fresh mango, diced, for topping
- 1/4 cup spicy chile gummies or candies, for topping
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Blend the base: Add the frozen mango, ice, sugar, water, and 1 tbsp of Chilito sauce to a blender. Blend about 45 seconds, until thick and smooth like a slushy. Add a splash more water only if the blender gets stuck.
2. Rim the glass: While it blends, run a little Chilito sauce around the rim of your glass, then dip it into the chile-lime powder so it sticks.
3. Sauce the inside: Drizzle about 1 tbsp of Chilito sauce down the inside walls of the glass, turning it as you go so it streaks all the way around.
4. Pour carefully: Slowly pour the mango mixture into the glass so the streaks stay visible and nothing spills over.
5. Top it off: Add another drizzle of Chilito sauce, then pile on the gummies and diced mango. Finish with a final drizzle of Chilito sauce and serve right away.
TIPS
- Want it spicier? Blend more Chilito into the base.
- Want it milder? Keep all the Chilito on the outside of the glass.
- Very ripe, sweet mango may need less sugar.
